George Woodbury provides consulting for municipalities nationwide on street lighting, street lighting tariffs, LED technology, gas and electricity procurement, project planning and management, municipal finance for energy efficiency projects and related legislation.  He is frequently called on to serve as an expert witness on street lighting tariff matters before utility commissions. He has completed projects in 13 states and worked on street lighting legislative matters in six states. He also provides turnkey street lighting energy efficiency projects for municipalities. These include analysis, project design, writing procurement documents, overseeing contractor selection, contractor oversight, securing available grants and coordination with utilities. George is a former municipal Department of Public Works Director and a graduate of West Point Academy.

Owner/Head of Technical Operations

Brian Woodbury has a Business degree from University of New Hampshire. While acquiring his degree he served as a field auditor and data analyst for LightSmart.  After graduating college, he began a career at Fidelity Investments where he further refined his data analysis skills, gained extensive experience in project management for a large number of projects of varying types, managed vendor and client relationships, and drove efficiencies within the organization. After nearly nine years at Fidelity Brian decided it was time to return to LightSmart to serve as the Head of Operations. 

With over 15 years of experience in the energy sector and more than 10 years of experience in project management, Brian, brings a unique skill set to the team, which is critical when dealing with large, complex data sets and managing projects with a lot of moving parts and multiple vendors/stakeholders. Brian’s technical background is well suited for the creation and oversight of the technology and software that is used for audits, conversions, and ongoing management of intelligent streetlighting systems.
